How To Log Out Gmail

Logging out of gmail is a good idea especially when you have signed on a shared device, or even on a borrowed device. Logging out helps keep unauthorized people out of your Gmail inbox.

So In this video I’ll be showing you How To Sign out/Log out of your Gmail Account Gmail.

PC/Mac

If you’re using a PC or Mac, chances are you’re signed into your Gmail account on a browser. Fortunately the interface on both platforms is the same.

To log out, go to the upper right corner and click on your profile pic /avatar, then select Sign Out! And you’ll be signed out of your Gmail account.

Smartphone:

On your Smartphone your Gmail account is automatically signed in to any Google account signed in on that device. Nd this is the case for both iOS and Android device.

So if you signed in on a borrowed device or a device you want to give away, the surest way of signing out is by removing the entire account. And you can initiate this right from the Gmail app.

On iOS 12 on my iPhone XS, Launch Gmail, tap on the profile icon in the upper right side. The from he pop up Window, select “ Manage accounts on this device” “Then Remove From This device”

On Android, it’s slightly different but you can still launch Gmail, go to menu ‘Manage accounts’ choose the Google account whose Gmail you want to sign out and remove that account from the phone. That simple.

Now If you want to log out of your Gmail from a device that’s not with you, you can do that remotely. Grab a computer near you, and sign in to your Gmail account.
Then scroll down to the bottom of the Gmail home page and click on ‘Details”

A pop up window will show you the latest log in activities. So you can click on ‘Signout all other Gmail web sessions’. This will sign out your Gmail account on all computers where you’re logged in.

But unfortunately it only logs out web sessions. So if you want to remotely log out on another device that’s not a PC or Mac, then you might have to change your Gmail password.

When you change your password, make sure all other sessions of your Gmail account are logged out. You can watch a video on how to Change your Gmail password right here!
