Words are very important in any write up. The number of words determines the length of a document. And since Google docs is an awesome writing platform, it's important to know how to check your word count.
Fortunately, Google docs is a very comprehensive cloud based word processor. It has a built in Word count checker. You can access it easily from the tools menu.
The word count tool also shows the pages used, the characters with and without counting spaces. It's a very comprehensive tool. There are also third party Google docs add ons that will show live word count as you type. Bet these are not made by Google.
